Cley Dutch Single Malt Whisky is produced at Cley Distillery, a microdistillery founded in 2015 by Paul den Dulk and Maria Neves in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Triple-distilled from organic, locally sourced barley on a copper pot still inspired by 17th-century Dutch genever traditions, it is matured for three years in ex-bourbon casks before a finish of at least six months in toasted virgin American oak quarter casks. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 500 mL bottle, it typically retails for around €39.50.
More citrus fruits, apples and candied ginger. Then apricots, hints of vanilla cake and custard, as well as some light coconut. Caramel flavours and walnuts towards the end.
