La Venenosa Etnica Tutsi Maguey Masparillo is an exceptionally rare agave spirit produced by Maestro Tabernero Rafael Carrillo Pizano in the Huichol village of Tatei Kie, La Guayaba, in northwest Jalisco, Mexico. Made from 100% wild-foraged Maguey Masparillo, it is roasted in an underground wood-fired oven, hand-milled with mallets, naturally fermented in a rock pit and single-distilled in a traditional Huichol trunk-tree still. Bottled at approximately 43.3% ABV, the spirit is produced in just two or three 45-liter batches each year and typically retails for around $270.
