  • The texture is surprisingly creamy and silky, with a bright, citrusy finish — think lemon meringue pie put through the wood-fired oven.

  • Oh let’s have some fun! Even if this little Glenfiddich may lose you a bit at times, while being less sweet that I had thought.

  • The finish has a lingering touch of campfire smoke and touches of molasses and brown sugar along with hints of allspice, vanilla, and nutmeg that add complexity.

  • I like this, it’s very different. That said, it doesn’t blend particularly well. It’s fun and interesting, and I really enjoy that, but I don’t think it’s as good as it could be.

  • On the whole, I enjoy the Glenfiddich Fire and Cane; I like the sweet and smoky combo and it hearkens back to the old Glenfiddich Vintage Reserve Peated release which I love. If it didn’t have that soap note it would be KILLER.

  • Baked apple, sweet oak, and cinder toffee on the palate, with ashy smoke. Peppery sweet peat, rum, and brittle toffee in the relatively short finish.

  • Nose:

Light brine and smoke. Faint ask. Sweet vanilla cream. Molasses. Faint lemon, pear. Caramel.

  • Taste:

Medium mouth feel. Faint heat. Sweet molasses, light freshly baked bread. Faint ash, light pepper and smoke. Faint brown sugar. Fun and interesting, but oddly disjointed.

  • Finish:

Short, sweet and bready, with a little rum funk, before pepper, salt and light smoke dash in.

  • Overall:

I like this, its very different. That said, it doesn't blend particularly well. Its fun and interesting, and I really enjoy that, but I don't think its as good as it could be.
