Old Forester President's Choice Bourbon (2026 Release) is a limited-edition, single-barrel Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey released as part of the brand's annual President's Choice series. Inspired by private single barrels offered in 1964 by former Old Forester President George Garvin Brown II, the 2026 release showcases barrels selected for their maturity, complexity and distinctive character. Each barrel is aged 7 to 9 years and bottled at barrel strength, with proofs ranging from 110 to 125. The bourbon carries a suggested retail price of $225.

Good bit of heat up front, joined by rich, powerful aromas of chocolate frosting, blueberry compote, oatcakes, caramel, cinnamon, cherry cola, gingerbread.
Lots of heat. Wonderful, thick mouthfeel that’s almost milkshake-like in its viscosity. Crème brûlée, Blueberries and blackberries open up the palate, quickly followed by a big, smoky seared oak note, and then leather, tobacco and finally a dark chocolate covered macadamia note that creeps in, joined by cherries and orange peel.
The finish opens with a big nutty profile — I’m picking up macadamia again, but also hazelnut and walnut. This nuttiness gives way to cornbread, pomegranate, cocoa powder, dark roast coffee, cinnamon, nutmeg and fluffy vanilla cake.
The 2026 release of Old Forester President's Choice Bourbon drinks hot, but if you can manage the heat, you’ll find a cornucopia of delicious flavors that accentuate one another perfectly. It tastes quite oaky and well-aged. This is spectacular bourbon.
