  • Aromas and flavors of pickled dates and figs, cocoa and warm vinyl, dry leaves and dried red fruits, and multigrain bread with a round, vibrant, dry light-to-medium body and a peppery, engaging, medium-long finish imparting nuances of grilled banana bread, pickled red fruit, faux leather, and persimmon jam.

  • The Rampur Asava is tasty. While the Cabernet Sauvignon shines, it doesn’t shine as bright as it can because of the overpowering porridge on the palate. This whisky has changed my mind about Indian whiskies, and I’m willing to try the rest of Rampur’s lineup.

  • A drier and yet fruitier whisky than the Double Cask, Asava is more contemplative and darker from the benefit of the Cab Sauv influence. Definitely a different horse than a sherry rested whisky, there are autumnal notes and a general sense of evening and cool breezes.
