Miles Teller’s Canned Cocktail Brand Debuts 1st Permanent Flavor in Over 4 Years

The Finnish Long Drink, a gin-based ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail brand owned by American actor Miles Teller, announced on Monday the latest permanent addition to its flavor lineup: Peach. According to a press release, the flavor was initially a limited edition in the Midsummer variety pack and marks the brand’s first new beverage in four years.
“What really convinced us to make it a permanent addition was the feedback we received from consumers,” Co-Founder Ere Partanen shared in the report.
“They were incredibly persistent and quickly fell in love with the flavor. Our goal has always been to introduce Americans to long drinks, and Peach is a flavor that truly seems to resonate stateside, so what better way to bring even more fans into The Long Drink Family.”
The Finnish Long Drink draws inspiration from Finland’s celebrated mixed drink category, the long drink. Crafted with citrus juices, typically grapefruit and lemon, combined with soda water and gin, this beverage originated from a need to provide quick and satisfying libations to visitors of the 1952 Finland Summer Games.
Teller first invested in the company in 2019, when it launched in the U.S. The actor had crossed paths with the beverage when the brand’s founders hosted a tasting event in New York City. He enjoyed the RTD gin drink so much that he had it shipped out to him at his West Coast residence. Teller eventually joined The Finnish Long Drink team as an investor after keeping in touch with the drink’s founders and introducing the product to his two friends, Norwegian DJ Kygo and American professional golfer Rickie Fowler, who also invested in the brand.
Speaking with Forbes, Teller revealed what’s next for The Finnish Long Drink.
“We’re going to continue to evolve the sugar free aspect of it,” he said. “Right now it’s only the original flavor that we also offer in sugar free. With every generation, drinking tendencies change, priorities change.”
“For the people that are counting calories, counting the sugar, I want to continue to evolve that with the other flavors we have. Ideally, I’d love a sugar-free Cranberry and a sugar-free Peach. But we’re not going to put out anything that doesn’t taste right.”
Now featuring Peach, The Finnish Long Drink range includes Traditional (5.5% ABV), Zero (5% ABV), Cranberry (5.5% ABV) and Strong (8.5% ABV). Traditional cans up the essence of the original long drink, while Zero provides imbibers with a zero-carb, zero-sugar option. Cranberry swaps the drink’s citrus base for a tart twist, and Strong caters to those seeking a higher alcohol content.
“Since bringing long drinks to America, our focus has always been on educating consumers about the Finnish category with authentic flavors, and this continues to be our mission even as we grow and expand,” added The Finnish Long Drink Co-Founder Sakari Manninen.
“As such, we’ve waited a long time to introduce a new flavor to the market. However, throughout this time, we have been experimenting and investing time to ensure that any new flavor that we developed is truly an authentic long drink. Peach achieved just that and was just too delicious to not share with the world.”
The Finnish Long Drink Peach, canned at 5.5% ABV, is distributed across 42 U.S. markets. It is available in packs of six at national and local retailers, with a suggested retail price ranging from $11.99 to $13.99.
