Peligroso Tequila Reposado is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila made in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. It is aged in white oak ex-whiskey barrels for 6 to 8 months and bottled at 42% ABV. The reposado typically sells for around $30-40.
On the nose, vanilla and caramel notes dominate, though the color is a light gold. Agave bite hits you a couple of seconds in and stretches long into the finish, but it’s balanced, not harsh.
Although there's been something of a mania for higher-proof spirits recently, the extra alcohol doesn't do this reposado any favors, bringing forward notes of smoke, oregano and resin.
