Global spirits company Peak Spirits has recently introduced Jin Jiji India Dry Gin and Jin Jiji Darjeeling to the Indian market, each offering a unique fusion of traditional Indian botanicals and Himalayan Juniper berries.

Jin Jiji Dry incorporates two distinct types of juniper and Goan cashew. Notable ingredients include coriander seeds, angelica, orris root, black tea, tulsi (holy basil) and chamomile.

Meanwhile, Jin Jiji Darjeeling boasts the use of the highest-grade Darjeeling tea, Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe 1, sourced from single-origin tea estates. Inspired by Masala Chai, this varietal also incorporates ginger, cardamom, cloves and India lemon peel.

Jin Jiji was first introduced to the international market in 2019 by founders Ansh Khanna and Ken Fredrickson. According to a press release, Khanna is a seasoned traveler and has a deep interest in the art and science of crafting spirits. On the other hand, Fredrickson is a master sommelier with over two decades of experience in the wine and spirits industry. The brand’s name is derived from the Hindi word “जििीविषा,” which reflects a drive to embody “a zest for life” in each of its gins.

“Versatile, vibrant, and uber chic – Jin JiJi is our wildest gin dreams putting on their evening best,” Khanna expressed, per the press release.

“We aimed to create a gin that’s not just about remarkable taste but also a delicious blend of regional Indian goodness and traditional gin-craft, with a splash of Himalayan sweetness tailor-made for the global palette.”

International recognition has quickly followed Jin Jiji’s debut, with accolades including a Gold medal at the World Spirits Competition in 2020. It has also earned Silver medals at prestigious competitions like the International Wine & Spirits Competition in 2021 and the Spirits Selection in 2022.

The label design of Jin Jiji draws inspiration from traditional Indian motifs, reflecting the botanicals used in the gin and paying homage to India’s cultural heritage. The incorporation of Devanagari script alongside Latin script in the logo further emphasizes this connection.

Jin Jiji India Dry Gin and Jin Jiji Darjeeling are now available in various regions across India, including Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Haryana. Jin Jiji Darjeeling is priced between ₹1540 ($18.60) and ₹2791 ($33.71), while Jin Jiji Indian Dry Gin ranges from ₹980 ($11.84) to ₹2245 ($27.11). The gins are also available in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and throughout Europe.

According to the brand, its spirits are best enjoyed in a classic gin and tonic or as part of a creative craft cocktail.
