Peligroso Tequila Silver is a Blanco tequila produced from 100% blue Weber agave sourced from Mexico's Highlands region. The brand was started by two surfers inspired by their trips to Baja and distilled at NOM 1107. Originally bottled at 42% ABV when launched, the current version is the standard 40% ABV.
Unfortunately, the palate seems a little discordant with some unattractive earthy notes and a loss of the vibrancy found in the aromatics. The drink finishes with a bit of the citrus character found earlier peaking through and a touch of salty minerality and baking spice.
Up front are a whole bunch of weird notes — think green beans, creamed corn, and bubble gum. Eventually this meanders into a more traditional profile, featuring stronger, peppery agave notes and a not-insignificant amount of sugar.
