Weller Millennium is an ultra-aged American whiskey from Buffalo Trace Distillery, made with a blend of vintage straight wheated bourbon and wheat whiskeys distilled between 2000 and 2006. It is bottled at 99 proof and comes in a handcrafted crystal decanter with an illuminated display case. The whiskey sells for around $7,500 as of 2026.
When sipping this whiskey you’ll taste a strong foundation of honey and graham cracker notes with the flavor of black cherries claiming center stage. Overall, the mouthfeel is incredibly rich and viscous, which is a benefit to the flavor profile, as it allows those sweet, fruit-forward notes to coat your tongue and blossom to their full potential.
Once you get past its polarizing and exorbitant price, Weller Millenium is a unique whiskey for the Buffalo Trace Distillery but not for why you’d expect it to be.
The whiskey is lightly tannic, with medium viscosity, coating the tongue in a thin layer of leather, with barely-there hints of dark raisins and figs. A small amount of black cherry is present, but nowhere near as vibrant as early on the nose. Flat cola is another early but very much secondary flavor carried throughout.
