Blackadder A Drop of the Irish is an Irish single malt whiskey from an undisclosed distillery, bottled by independent bottler Blackadder International. Now the alcohol shows! Lots of heat. Chili’s. Just a bit of banana. We’ll add water (a teaspoon) and give it some time. It helps a bit with the heat, but doesn’t really open up new layers of flavour.
You definitely need to add water and let it sit, so some of the alcohol can blow off. Once it does it becomes a lot more manageable and a bit more tasty with subtle notes arriving on the scene. Though I tell ya, without that water it tasted, and smelled, like a bowl of bananas soaked in Everclear.
