Caol Ila 24 Year Old 175th Anniversary is a limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky from Caol Ila Distillery on Islay. Released in 2021 to mark the distillery's founding in 1846 by Hector Henderson, it is limited to 3,000 bottles worldwide and bottled at 52.1% ABV.
The nose of this Caol Ila is very convincing. However, on the palate it loses one or two points as it becomes sharper and much more simple, focusing entirely on coastal notes. A decent anniversary bottling, sure, but maybe not an absolute must-have.
