Devil’s Grin Texas Gin is produced at Trinity River Distillery in Fort Worth, Texas. Distilled from Texas corn, it uses 14 botanicals, including juniper, cedar, lime, florals and sweet roots, and is proofed with captured rainwater. Bottled at 44% ABV, it typically retails for $20–25.
A distinctive, licorice-forward gin that leans into bold botanical character while maintaining balance and structure. However, it's strong anise profile may not suit every palate. This would shine in a white negroni, where its fennel, anise, and cardamom notes can integrate with gentian liqueur and dry vermouth, enhancing the drink’s herbal complexity.
Devil’s Grin Texas Gin is a beautiful, versatile, contemporary style gin that has a good amount of juniper, a unique perspective, and works well in a wide range of cocktails.

House Review
Nose:
Sweet, botanical aromatics lead the profile, with juniper present but restrained rather than dominant. Bright citrus notes, including lemon verbena, lift the nose and add a fresh, lightly herbal character.
Taste:
Pronounced licorice-driven botanicals, with notes of fennel seed, cardamom, and anise at the forefront. A light underlying sweetness is balanced by a gentle peppery edge, while a touch of lemon peel adds a subtle, zest.
Finish:
A light peppery note leads into a soft, creamy woodiness that helps temper the pronounced licorice character.
Overall:
A distinctive, licorice-forward gin that leans into bold botanical character while maintaining balance and structure. However, it's strong anise profile may not suit every palate. This would shine in a white negroni, where its fennel, anise, and cardamom notes can integrate with gentian liqueur and dry vermouth, enhancing the drink’s herbal complexity.
