Bain's Cape Mountain Whisky is South Africa's first single grain whisky, distilled at the James Sedgwick Distillery in Wellington from 100% South African yellow maize. It undergoes a unique double maturation process, spending three years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to fresh first-fill ex-bourbon casks for another 18 to 30 months. The whisky is bottled at 43% ABV and typically sells for around $30-50.

The finish is mostly smooth but somewhat hot at points, while delivering chocolate and toffee. Add an ice cube to bring out a darker, richer brown sugar sweetness.
The palate boasts layers of dried fruit and cereal, complemented by hints of vanilla, toffee, and tropical fruits. The finish is refined, softly warm and beautifully lingering.
