Sir Edward's Smoky Blended Scotch Whisky is a lightly peated blend produced by French company Bardinet. It's bottled at 40% ABV and sells for around $14 per bottle. The whisky uses whiskies from the Islay regions for its smoky characteristics, combined with fruity notes from other Scottish regions.
The finish sees the smoke vanish nearly entirely, leaving behind some residual sugar that, to be truthful, is perfectly enjoyable for an outlay of $14 per bottle.
The peating is very light on the palate, but the smokiness comes out more clearly on the finish, showing an accomplished balance with the sweet toffee notes.
