The Quiet Man is triple-distilled, aged for at least four years and bottled at 40% ABV. The brand sources Irish whiskey with a high malt percentage, and marries the blend in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. It retails for $23 to $30.
Again, the overall experience is very light and brisk, but totally in line with what we’ve come to expect from Irish whiskey — an easygoing but not entirely complicated drinking experience.
This would be a good dram to use to introduce a newcomer to the world of Irish whiskey without risking overwhelming anyone. However, it can be a little too safe and seems to lack a real solid note of intrigue to send me back to the bottle for another taste.
