Chattanooga Whiskey released the seventh entry in its Barrel Finishing Series, Chattanooga Michigan Maple Syrup Cask Finished Straight Bourbon, in August 2025. The bourbon blends two high malt mashbills, SB091 and SB076, and ages more than 4 years in toasted and charred 53-gallon barrels before a one-year finish in Michigan maple syrup casks sourced from BLiS Gourmet in Grand Rapids. BLiS supplies the late harvest maple syrup barrels used for the finish. The bourbon comes in at 47.5% ABV at a $60 price point.
It avoids the sticky, dessert-like character that can overwhelm some pours and instead offers something more grounded and complex. At $60, this is a strong choice for anyone looking to explore a well-executed maple cask finish that offers more than just sweetness.
The Chattanooga Whiskey Maple Syrup Cask Finished Bourbon is a distinct and surprisingly well-balanced maple-finished bourbon, featuring a noticeable amaretto and malt influence that sets it apart from others.
It would melt away in an eggnog or a coffee. The nose is lovely and has a nice punch to it! Do not hesitate to share or mix this to really bolden up your favorite Fall beverage.
