Caisteal Chamuis 12 Year Old is a 46% ABV blended malt Scotch whisky from Scotland, bottled in a 750ml format. It is made from a selection of Island single malts aged 12 years in refill American oak hogsheads, then finished in Oloroso sherry casks, including a Solera cask. The whisky is heavily peated and maritime in style, with a double cask maturation.

  • Watermelon, cherry, and red apple flavors with a smooth mouthfeel, then hot smoke—a bit dry—with red chile flakes, pepper, ginger, and a dry spicy finish. A bit too hot to handle at times, with the spice and smoke dominating the proceedings.

  • The palate has a pronounced citrus fruit quality mixing with charcoal smoke, vanilla, and graham crackers — almost like a s'more that's missing the chocolate, but spread with fruit jam instead.

  • The taste is thick and oily with peat smoke and creosote balanced by notes of grilled peaches, honey, toasted vanilla, and a hint of figs. The finish has lingering peat smoke and touches of figs and grilled citrus.
