Years after hitting the market with Espolon and Cabo Wabo, Campari Group has debuted its first in-house foray into the "ultra-premium" tequila category. This expression is produced at NOM 1440, where it's cooked using autoclaves and twice distilled in copper pots. Beyond the basics, Mayenda boasts two significant selling points: the maceration of roasted agave hearts into the base distillate and the addition of fresh agave honey.

House Review
Nose:
Big buttercream note followed by agave, grass and bell pepper. Lingering in the background is a hint of that synthetic sudsy quality sometimes found in autoclave-made agave spirits.
Taste:
Roasted agave makes its presence known clear loud and clear, squared off with lighter notes of orange rind, lemon, black pepper
