Ibar 8-Year-Old is produced in the Basque highlands by Destilerías Acha. It is made from 25% malted barley and 75% unmalted barley sourced from local malteries, with heather roots used instead of peat for smoking. Distillation takes place in the historic Hervé & Moulin copper pot still at Acha’s facility in Amurrio. The whisky ages in freshly re-charred Iberian oak casks from local winemakers and is proofed with water from the Nervión River.
