Mike’s Hard Lemonade, an early icon in the flavored malt beverage trend, is expanding its decades-old roster with a bevy of new flavors.

As the summer fast approaches, the brand has unveiled Limonada Frescas, a new variety pack inspired by Mexico’s cherished agua fresca recipes. Made with citrus, real fruit juice and agave nectar, Mike’s twist on the concept will come in Watermelon Lime, Mangonada, Citrus Limonada and Pineapple Guava flavors canned at 5% ABV each.

Agua frescas —traditionally made with fresh fruit or vegetable juice, water and a sweetener like sugar or honey — have become a popular pick for canned alcoholic beverages over the past few years. Modelo, Topo Chico and a variety of up-and-coming brands have each ventured into the concept.

Mike’s has also announced a trio of Harder flavors inspired by “bar favorites found in local dives, lounges and joints.” Consumers can expect Piña Colada, Screwdriver and Hurricane Punch flavors canned at 8% ABV to hit the market in May.

As legend has it, Mike’s was founded in Boston on April Fool’s Day 1999. Over the decades, the brand emerged as a brightly colored best-seller, at one point being named the fastest-growing beer company in America.

Dozens upon dozens of flavors later, the brand was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev for $350 million in the Canadian market, while Mark Anthony Brands Inc still retains Mike’s in the U.S. If you’d like to learn more, find the brand’s website here.
