Stephen Curry Partnered With Chef José Andrés for Latest Bourbon

Gentleman’s Cut José Andrés bourbon

Stephen Curry’s Gentleman’s Cut teams with chef José Andrés on a 10-year bourbon finished in sherry casks. Just 800 bottles will be sold, priced at $375.

Gentleman’s Cut Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the brand backed by NBA star Stephen Curry, announced on Tuesday the release of a new limited release in collaboration with chef José Andrés.

The whiskey, named Player Exclusive: José Andrés, is a 10-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Only 800 bottles will be available at a suggested retail price of $375.

Unlike previous Player Exclusive releases, which focused on Curry’s personal milestones, this is the first time the brand has partnered with someone outside the basketball world. Gentleman’s Cut said additional collaborations with cultural figures are planned.

“To me, food and drink provide a common language, a way to share joy and create community at home and around the world,” Andrés said in a news release. “It is an incredible honor to partner with Stephen Curry, a friend who shares the same passion of bringing people together, as we launch the first collaborative edition of Gentleman’s Cut: Player Exclusive series.”

The bourbon is bottled at 107 proof and has a mashbill of 78% corn, 13% rye and 9% malted barley. The tasting notes from the brand include vanilla, raisin, fig jam, honey, leather, nutmeg and espresso.

Curry said the project was about more than whiskey.

“Partnering with José on this Player Exclusive release is special because he embodies those same values through his food, his vision and his commitment to community through his World Central Kitchen non-profit,” he said. “Together, we’re not only raising a glass to great bourbon, but also to the impact it can have when we use it to give back.”

Most proceeds from the release will support World Central Kitchen, the nonprofit Andrés founded in 2010 that provides food relief to communities in crisis worldwide.

The bourbon will be available online through Gentleman’s Cut and select retailers via Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits.

Curry first launched his bourbon brand in May 2023. In the years since, he hasn’t been shy about releasing pricy limited-edition offerings. In May 2024, he marked his 15th NBA season with a 15-year-old bourbon priced at a whopping $4,500. Then there was the 16-year-old bourbon to simultaneously celebrate his 16th year in the league as well as his father’s 16-year pro career. Dubbed the “Father and Son Edition,” it came with a $950 price tag. Finally, this March saw the release of a $333 rye whiskey launched to commemorate his 4,000th career NBA 3-point make. The spirit was aged 4,000 days, of course.
