The nose is heavy on port influence, sweet and jammy. Overdose of grape with some raspberry and a bit of grassiness from the rye.
Moderate viscosity. Port somewhat dominates the distillate, but it's overall still a pleasant whiskey. Big jammy grapey vibes are met with nutmeg, cola, char, chocolate shavings and a touch of mint.
The finish is long with oak char, cocoa, port and anise.
This isn't the greatest example I've had of a well-balanced port-finished whiskey, but it's not a bad bottle by any means. Lovers of heavy port influence will want to track this down.
