Fettercairn 28 Year Old is one of five Fettercairn expressions that debuted in the U.S. in May 2025, alongside 24-, 40-, 46- and 50-year-old expressions. Fettercairn was founded in 1824, so its arrival in the U.S. has been a long time coming. This single malt scotch whisky is aged for 28 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels with no chill filtering and bottled at 42% ABV. It has a suggested retail price of $1,250 per 700-milliliter bottle. Just 500 bottles were released in the U.S.

Gorgeous nose with more rich sweetness to it than the 24-year offering from Fettercairn. Apple bake, sweet cream, butterscotch, green apple, caramel and cookie butter.
Quite viscous on the palate for 84 proof. There's a really beautiful mix of oak and sweetness here: Salted caramel, fig, raisin bread, black pepper, tobacco, rosemary.
Long finish with notes of leather, cinnamon, oak and tannin, tobacco and clove.
Just a gorgeous, complex whisky. Fantastic stuff.
