Boann Madeira Cask Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is made from a mashbill of malted barley, unmalted barley, oats and rye, all grown in Ireland. It is first matured in heavily charred 200-liter American oak ex-bourbon barrels from Brown-Forman, then finished in French oak Marsala wine casks sourced from Cantine de Vinci in Sicily. Bottled at 47% ABV in a 700ml format, it is non-chill filtered and retails for around $68.

Lots of green apple and pear on the nose, joined by dry white wine character plus hay.
Almond, honey, pear, cinnamon, pepper, oak.
Long Nice earthy finish with tobacco and cinnamon, transitions into a sweeter, buttier profile after a bit with white peach, banana, honey.
A nice, well balanced malt. The finish is perfectly ingratiated and it’s an easy sipper.
