M&H Distillery Apex Dead Sea Whisky is a small batch Israeli single malt distilled on June 24, 2018, and bottled on July 4, 2021. It was matured near the Dead Sea at over 400 meters below sea level, where extreme temperatures up to 50°C accelerate aging. This release is bottled at 56.2% ABV, with 4,892 bottles produced.

  • I’m still amazed this isn’t technically finished. That viscous, vinous cognac note is present from start to finish. It’s one of the sweeter malts I’ve had recently - I expected oak to dominate and sea salt to be just as intense, yet each part is balanced into a powerful whole. Exceptional.

  • The palate fires off elements of banana, peaches, and more of that apricot character, all strong and lively. Much less floral than the STR, there’s still a touch of hibiscus here but it’s drowned out by red berries and a touch of chocolate. Beautiful but racy, and hard to put down.
