Talisker x Parley Wilder Seas is a limited edition travel retail release of non-age-stated single malt Scotch whisky, finished in French oak XO cognac casks and bottled at 48.6% ABV. Priced at about $80, it was produced in partnership with ocean conservation group Parley for the Oceans, with £3 from each bottle supporting Parley’s sea forest preservation efforts.
Talisker has a big personality and this Wilder Seas is no different. I wouldn’t have guessed the cognac treatment, which seems to add some sweetness but also a certain boozy sharpness on the palate.
Talisker has hit it out of the park with Wilder Seas – creating something that is both familiar and so much richer than their standard 10-year-old offering.
