The Macallan Enigma is a travel retail exclusive single malt Scotch whisky and the final release in The Macallan Quest Collection. Aged in sherry-seasoned oak casks from a single cooperage in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, Enigma is available at The Macallan Airport Boutiques and select global travel retailers.
Enigma is a slightly bloated sherry bomb, mostly expressing the European oak casks. The balance is quite good, but somehow this profile doesn’t really work for me. In that respect it reminds me of the early batches of GlenDronach 15 Years Revival.
