Craigellachie 19 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside bottled at 46% ABV in a 700ml format. After initial maturation in a mix of cask types, half the whisky is transferred to first-fill sherry casks and half to first-fill bourbon casks.
More crisp and with slightly more obvious toasted structure. The pineapple distillery character is now dried, before the palate shows sweet chocolate pudding, char, honeysuckle, herbs, and white fruits.
A fair amount of wood spices come about and soft smoke is found. Craigellachie is known for their sulfurous profile, and that holds true on this on this bottling. The fruit notes lean towards the orchard fruits like peaches, but the spice is what lingers on your palate on the finish.
