Produced in Jalisco, Mexico, CasAzar Tequila Reposado is made from 100% blue Weber agave and aged 7 months in American oak casks. Bottled at 40% ABV and hosting a suggested retail price of $169.99, it is part of the CasAzar brand founded by spirits industry veterans Max Ramirez and Viviana Sierraalta-Ramirez. The name combines “Casa,” meaning home, and “Azar,” meaning luck. The tequila comes in a porcelain bottle inspired by casino chips and hand-painted with gold accents.
This is a lovely sipping tequila that is too good to mix into cocktails. It will appeal to fans of reposado tequila that appreciate herbaceous agave balanced beautifully with the influence of wood.
This is a reposado worth spending an evening with. Its subtle sweetness makes the nuanced confectionary notes, drying herbs and nutty char quite rewarding to unpack.

The palate offers roasted poblano pepper alongside toasted almonds, cocoa dust and a smidge of peanut shells.
Finish:
The lengthy finish features sweet palo santo smoke, sandalwood and a bitter note with a slight sappy, balsamic quality.
