Ultramundo Maguey Lamparillo is a joven mezcal made in Durango, Mexico from 100% wild Lamparillo agave grown on the brand's Pelayo Ranch. The agave is roasted in an underground volcanic stone pit oven, fermented with wild yeast in open-air oak-lined wells and distilled twice in a wood-fired copper pot still. It is bottled at 48% ABV and sells for around $150.

Full of tropical flavors and dunder, this could be a fun substitution for some of your favorite rum cocktails.
The mezcal is extremely green peppery on both the nose and palate. It’s earthy and vegetal with hints of berries and red fruits, a touch of banana bread, and some brown sugar and spice.
