To commemorate the Carolina Panthers' 30th anniversary, Southern Distilling Company in Statesville, North Carolina released Southern Star Paragon Cognac Finish Limited Series. The bourbon combines nine barrels of wheated Paragon bourbon made from 70% corn, 16% wheat and 14% malted barley. Aged six years, it is finished with virgin French oak staves from barrels that previously held Cognac for at least two years. Bottled at 106 proof, the 2024 release yielded 3,000 bottles and carries a suggested retail price of $100.

- Southern Distilling has released an excellent bourbon to celebrate 30 years of its local NFL team. Younger expressions of Paragon have been received well, but these older barrels with a finish applied are a nice step up.
