  • A whiskey that’s sweet at first and then very bitter and ashy. It’s interesting and distinctive, but the charcoal flavor outweighs the surrounding notes.

  • Nose:

Not much of a nose on this. Cranberries, mint, a touch of ethanol.

  • Taste:

Pleasant, highly smoky palate of smoked wood and BBQ smoke with supporting notes of dark chocolate, caramel, coffee grounds and blueberry.

  • Finish:

The hickory and charcoal take full control here with a big ashy finish full of tobacco and smoked wood.

  • Overall:

A whiskey that’s sweet at first and then very bitter and ashy. It’s interesting and distinctive, but the charcoal flavor is a bit much.
