Marie Brizard Pear William is a 23% ABV liqueur made with Pear William eau-de-vie and fruit sourced from Alsace-Lorraine in eastern France. Marie Brizard was founded in 1755 in Bordeaux, France, after creating the original Anisette liqueur. The company expanded globally by the 1800s and launched citrus liqueurs in 1766. It gained awards from 1893 onward and became a cultural icon by the 1960s.
The sweet but relatively light flavor profile starts with pear, gives over to vanilla mid-palate, and finishes with a bright flick of ginger. Recommended for cocktails.
