Habitation Velier Foursquare 2013 is a Barbados Pure Single Rum distilled at Foursquare Rum Distillery in 2013 under Master Distiller Richard Seale in collaboration with Italian importer Luca Gargano of Velier. Made entirely from molasses and pot-distilled, it was aged for two years in ex-Cognac barrels, making it Foursquare’s first 100% pot still bottling. Released in 2016, the rum was bottled at cask strength at 64% ABV without added sugar, coloring or filtration. The limited release produced 3,156 bottles.

  • On the palate the ‘funk’ takes a step back and the ex-Cognac cask influence really shines. Definitely a grapey/wine/cognac profile to it followed by intense tobacco, leather and peaches. Acidity does make my tongue tingle with notes of wasabi, pink grapefruit and varnish.
