Gekkeikan "Black & Gold" Junmai Sake is produced at Gekkeikan Sake (USA) Inc. in Folsom, California, a brewery established in 1989 by the historic Japanese Gekkeikan brand, founded in 1637. It is a Tokubetsu Junmai-shu made by blending two California-produced sakes, Traditional and Haiku, using only rice, water, koji and yeast. Bottled at 15.6% ABV, it typically retails for around $21 per 750 mL bottle.
