Damoiseau Rhum Vieux Agricole VSOP is a rhum agricole produced at Bellevue Distillery in Guadeloupe by the Damoiseau family, which has operated the distillery since the 1940s. Made from fresh, island-grown sugarcane juice, the rum is aged for a minimum of four years in re-charred ex-bourbon casks to enhance flavor and complexity. Bottled at 42% ABV, it typically retails for $42 to $45.
Here we see more classic old rum character — notes of brown sugar, banana, coconut, caramel, and baking spices, all whipped up into a concoction you could sip on any time, but particularly alongside something sweet to eat.
Burnished gold in the glass, this rhum offers a vanilla-forward aroma and light, smooth palate, with concentrated creamy honey and a long baking spice finish accented by a whiff of Scotch-like and lemon peel.
