Ansac VS Cognac is produced in Cognac, France, by Unicognac using grapes from the Petite Champagne and Fins Bois crus. It is distilled and blended, according to the brand, to emphasize notes of dried fruits, nuts and lime blossom. Bottled at 40% ABV in 750ml, it retails for around $21.
Unicognac is a French cognac cooperative founded in 1959 and based in Saint-Germain-de-Lusignan. Part of the Ocealia group, it partners with over 500 Charentais winegrowers to produce, blend and export cognacs and Pineau des Charentes under brands including Jules Gautret, Ansac, and AE Dor. The cooperative operates a modern bottling facility and 10 aging cellars, producing roughly 1.5 million bottles annually.
