Kendall Jenner Takes Inspiration from Labubu Trend with Accessorized 818 Tequila Mini Bottles

Kendall Jenner’s tequila brand is keeping up with the pocket-sized trends.
On Monday, 818 Tequila announced the debut of 818 Minis, 50-milliliter versions of the brand’s Blanco and Reposado offerings distilled in Jalisco, Mexico. The miniature pours are slated to roll out in September alongside a marketing push slyly dubbed “Free the Nip.” (Whether or not that pun clicks may come down to region. In the Northeast, 50-milliliter bottles are commonly referred to as “nips”; elsewhere, they’re better known as “shooters” or simply “minis.”)
Though 818 is far from the first liquor brand to introduce a mini format, Jenner’s company has gone to great lengths to distinguish its offering from the competition.
Inspired by Gen-Z’s “obsession with personalization,” 818 Minis are being pitched not as a portable liquor vessel but as a must-have fashion accessory. Promo images show the bottles dangling from clip-on bag charms, attached to purses next to bundles of crochet plushies and lanyard. It’s an unusually cute and cuddly reimagining of 50-milliliter bottles, and it’s safe to say that probably has something to do with viral trends of the day. The brand cites Labubu dolls, viral lip gloss keychains and the rise of portable, expressive purchases as key inspirations.
“Rooted in audience insight and designed to mirror beauty and lifestyle trends, the social campaign taps into Gen Z’s Little Treat Culture, where even the smallest indulgence becomes a moment worth styling, sharing, and celebrating,” 818 said in a news release.
It’s the latest in a string of releases that’s turned 818 into a voguish lifestyle purchase. Last year, Jenner teamed up with influencer Emma Chamberlain for an espresso martini kit that immediately took TikTok feeds by storm. The reality TV superstar-turned-entrepreneur has also released tequila chocolate bars, endless merch variations and a cocktail recipe created in collaboration with Grammy-winning country artist Chris Stapleton.
