La Muse Verte, created by Jean-Michel Berneau, was released in 1992 based on his grandfather's absinthe recipes. Artez acquired the brand in 2003 and moved production to its 12-hectare estate in western Bas Armagnac. Made by steeping over ten plants in neutral spirits, it includes star anise from China, seed anise from Turkey, fennel, sage and licorice. The macerated oils undergo multiple filtrations. Free of preservatives, coloring agents, synthetic anise and sugar, it is suggested to be stored at room temperature, with sugar optionally added at serving using the included absinthe spoon.

  • The herbal aroma suggests tarragon and fennel seed, while the palate is distinctly honeyed and herbal, with hints of chamomile tea, eucalyptus and a final earthy exhale.
