Archenemy Space Whiskey is a blend of two straight bourbon lots, one distilled in June 2012 and the other in August 2015. Aged for 60 months in 53-gallon white oak barrels with a #2 char, this unfiltered bourbon rests at 90 proof.
Cinnamon coffee cake comes out as the baking spices come forward. It does have a slight medicinal twang on the back of the tongue, but overall, a pleasant sipper.
Things sweeten up as the palate develops, almost giving the finish a note of creamy peanut butter, tempered by just the lightest layer of spice and a touch of baked apple notes. It may not exactly “make you feel like you can punch holes through spacetime,” but it will at least get you through a Tuesday evening reasonably enough.
