Privateer's Queen's Share Aged 4 Years is made using the traditional Cognac technique of redistilling the seconds. This rum is a blend of barrels aged in new and used American oak casks for at least four years, then re-barreled in neutral casks before being bottled at cask strength. Unsweetened and with no additives, it is produced entirely at Privateer in Massachusetts.
This is a rum you’ll want to add a wee bit of water to and take your time to ponder what you’re tasting. Massachusetts-based Privateer may be small in scale, but they’re proof that in the right hands, New England rum can go head-to-head with renowned Caribbean producers when it comes to big, bold rums.
