  • Minoki is a sippable light-bodied rum that might not hold up to certain cocktails but has a certain unique quality from the coral filtering that makes it an intriguing pour.

  • Nose:

Heavy notes of vanilla and brown sugar uplifted by plum, passion fruit and lime. A slight acetone note in the far background.

  • Taste:

A very mild rum with delicate fruit flavors. Sugar glazed grapes, Japanese plum and vanilla. There is definitely some salinity that rounds out the flavor.

  • Finish:

It has a spicy finish with lingering notes of wood and vanilla.

  • Overall:

Minoki is a sippable light-bodied rum that might not hold up to certain cocktails but has a certain unique quality from the coral filtering that makes it an intriguing pour. Mizunara cask is all the rage in whiskey and it translate well to the world of rum. I wouldn't be surprised if we started to see more rums experiment with this style of cask.
