The 2024 release of Heaven Hill's coveted Heritage Collection is an 18-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon. Distilled from a mashbill of 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley, this bourbon is bottled at 120 proof. The release comprises 133 barrels, which were filled in December 2005 and aged on the third floor of Heaven Hill's rickhouse 1I.

Rich on the nose. Big and brash, powerful and layered with tons going on. Toffee, brown sugar, vanilla bean, cream, heavy baking spice, clove, pepper and ginger. There’s a good deal of old oak, but not too much. It’s less punishingly tannic than I expected, and I love that.
Heavy and rich, there are gobs of oak without pushing to bitter. There’s tobacco, cream, honey, baking spice, decadent maple and loads of rich, dark woodiness. This is less tannic than the previous 17-year Heritage release from Heaven Hill and absolutely crammed with rich, old, sweetness and opulent layers.
Long finish. Extremely grippy, it holds for a very long time. Great balance of wood, tobacco, big rich maple and sweetness and balancing baking spice. It carries heavy with touches of black cherry, toffee, tobacco and more oak.
This release eclipses the 17-year release and reaches new heights for me. It’s a winner through and through and has everything I want to see from an extra-aged, high-proofed bourbon.
