Martingale Cognac was brought to market in 2023 by former Pernod Ricard executive Guillaume Thomas and master blender Amaury Thomas. It is a blend of four Crus and is distilled at their distillery in Ars, France. Unlike most cognacs, Martingale has no age designation.
A very interesting attempt at breaking the rather dated Cognac mold and mores – very much shakes up the the blending, aging and flavor profiles that the more hidebound cognac houses adhere to.
Super clean and unadulterated, this Cognac speaks to a purity of grape flavor reminiscent of what great Brandy was before additives; you can taste grape, still, and oak cleanly.
