A bottom-shelf bourbon from Tennessee mega-producer George Dickel, this non-age-stated product is bottled at 90 proof and typically sells for a little less than $30.
Despite a mild aroma, this whiskey offers bold caramel, vanilla and maple on the palate, with soft, creamy mouthfeel. Water opens up the aroma a little, disclosing a bit more vanilla. Sip or mix.
All in all, it’s a nice whisky, especially for the price, and will be joining the cast of “regulars” I cycle through to keep things interesting and make the expensive stuff last longer.
With a nice mouthfeel, ample flavor, and great price, George Dickel Superior No. 12 Whiskey certainly packs in the value and can slot into anyone’s everyday whiskey.
