In celebration of King Charles III’s upcoming coronation, top English gin brand Whitley Neill has launched a limited-edition Connoisseur’s Cut gin. Distilled at the first and only gin distillery in London in 200 years, The City of London Distillery, Coronation Gin rests at a higher-than-usual ABV of 47%.

“With an extra Bank Holiday and a weekend full of celebrations, the Coronation will present a huge sales opportunity for retailers and licensees this May,” commented Rachel Adams, global marketing director of Halewood Artisanal Spirits, per Better Retailing.

“With its rich London heritage and quality London Dry gin distilling credentials, Whitley Neill is perfectly positioned to help maximise this opportunity with the launch of this striking Limited Edition Coronation Gin offering,” Adams continued.

“We’ve also created a range of supporting serve suggestions for those looking to celebrate the occasion with an extra special royal cocktail.”

Coronation Gin features traditional London dry botanicals such as juniper, coriander, angelica, licorice, lemon peel, orange peel and grapefruit peel. The 47% ABV allows the spirit’s zesty botanical notes to shine a little stronger, making it a perfect gin for making cocktails.

Priced at £30 ($36.86) per 700 ml bottle, Coronation Gin is currently available for purchase at The Drop Store.

In February, Whitley Neil debuted two new fruity gins: Banana & Guava and Apple & Red Berries. The two gins source inspiration from flavors associated with the spring and summer seasons.

Charles’ coronation will take place on May 6. The special event has also motivated the launch of a raspberry gin produced by Buckingham Palace called Royal Windsor Pink Gin. Beyond raspberries, the gin includes tasting notes from pink peppercorns, cassia bark, orange peel and rose petals.
