This is a 4 yaer old aged rum, filtered to remove color, "for extreme purity". Their website doesn't give you too awfully much more to go off of. So, with that, let's dive in.
The complexity and light rough ad tumble character of the Extra Seco Rum is what makes it such a great cocktail rum. It makes an outstanding Daiquiri, and a fantastic Cuba Libre‘. As well, the standard Mojito made with FDC Extra Seco is a treat to sip on even during my Canadian winter.
Flor de Cana Extra Seco 4 works best in mixed drinks. It makes a really nice rum and coke which is similar to one made with the 7 but with a much drier overall profile. It’s quite sharp with some zesty notes. It also mixed really well in things like Daiquiris and Mojito’s. It’s a really good mixing white rum. Pretty inexpensive as well.
