Rhum J.M Terroir Volcanique is inspired by the volcanoes on the island of Martinique. Terroir Volcanique is a blend of rums aged at least three years in new American oak barrels, some of which have undergone a particular charring process. The brand utilizes its on-site cooperage to carry out a double-char process resulting in a complex extraction of wood flavors.
The lively palate offers lots of vanilla and caramel up front, drying into hints of leather and cigar wrapper. The finish shows a faint but refreshing bell pepper-like vegetal exhale.

House Review
Nose:
Rich toffee, cream and maple. A touch of rubbery funk, light tannin, pepper and some fruit character. Pleasant, enticing.
Taste:
Ooooh a little funkier here. Apples, bananas, pears, mango, some light plasticity, rubber, toffee and more maple. Light oak, just enough to add structure.
Finish:
Long finish. Loads of plasticity and rubbery funk here, apples, butter cream, banana and mango, some minerality and light oak.
Overall:
This is a lovely pour. It’s rich, complex, unique and interesting with just enough funk to be fun and really strike an additive pose. Love it.
