  • The 2023 version is a mighty tasty pour so far, but Remus VII also feels like it’s not quite hitting its full potential at either this specific blend or ABV.

  • The palate lacks a touch on complexity, but it’s a fine whiskey for sipping, especially if you enjoy the MGP style.

  • Nose:

Beautiful rich brown butter on the nose, toffee, honey, caramels and a hint of fruit. It's not overpowering, but it's layered and easy to love.

  • Taste:

The palate is pleasant, rich viscosity and layered despite the 50% ABV. It's full of cherry, cola, brown butter, tobacco, pepper, nougat and tons of rich sweetness. Not overpowering and far from punishing, this is layered and lovely.

  • Finish:

Long finish, heavy on the baking spice, almond, pepper, nougat, brown butter and toffee.

  • Overall:

Delightful and one of the best Remus releases yet, this bourbon is gorgeous, layered and just lovely.
